Improve Performance by Clearing Your Chrome Cache and Cookies
If you are experiencing slow performance, display issues, or unexpected behaviour when using any web-based applications, clearing your browser’s cache and cookies is one of the simplest and most effective ways to restore functionality.
What are cache and cookies?
- The cache stores temporary website files in your browser to help pages load faster. Over time, these files may become outdated or corrupted, which can lead to slow loading times, broken page elements, or inaccurate displays.
- Cookies are small files that store user preferences and session information. While they are helpful for remembering login details and settings, cookies can also become outdated or conflict with recent website updates, causing login problems or errors when submitting forms or loading content.
Clearing both cache and cookies ensures your browser retrieves the most current version of a website and removes any stored data that may be causing issues.
Common issues this can resolve:
- Pages not loading or displaying properly
- Buttons, menus, or fields not responding
- Trouble logging into websites or staying signed in
- Forms not submitting or loading as expected
- Overall slowness when browsing or using online tools
